On reaching Ronda we parked the car and started walking towards the gorge and the old town. We came to the edge of the hill that Ronda was built on and got a breathtaking view
From there we walked to Ronda's famous "new" bridge which was built in 1793
From there we walked down the steep stone paths to the Arab baths,a memento of when the Moors ruled Spain. We got lucky and got in free because it was Monday.
We had a nice meal of tapas, but were curious as to what the "secret" meat was. After wandering through the town for a couple of hours we headed for the town's famous bullfighting ring, the oldest of that type of building in the world. There normally aren't any bullfights at this time of year, but we seemed to have found one
The bullfights must be quite the spectacle with the arena sitting 5000. Under the stands there is a royal collection of arms and bullfighting memorabilia, here is my personal favorite
Did the poor matador not make it? He appears to be missing in the last photo. Great pictures!!! Have fun and we look forward to reading about your adventures. KRB
