Day 2: Malaga

This morning we got up and decided to go for chocolate and churros. Churros are a sweet dough that is shaped like a short thick string. With our churros we had a hot chocolate paste that is used as a dipping sauce for the churros

After our "healthy" breakfast we went to the market that was just down the road.  The market was set up in three tiers: vegetables and fruits ,butchers and fish.

After our trip to the market we headed to the cathedral of Malaga which as in most cathedrals in Europe is built to an awe-inspiring and epic scale.
After the cathedral, we walked over to the Moorish fort and palace of the Castillo de Gibralfaro and the Alcazaba. The Castillo is located on a hill overlooking all of Malaga and gives some pretty amazing views from the ramparts to the bullring and surrounding countryside.
The Alcazaba located at the bottom of the hill was built in 711 and full of Moorish architecture and lush gardens and running water.
After a quick lunch we headed to the Pablo Picasso museum and then as our final stop of the day we hung out on a nearby beach on the Mediterranean.  The water was too cold to swim, even though it was hot out.  After a nice meal of tapas, we settled back home to listen to the crowds outside watching Real Madrid play on television.  Off by train to Seville tomorrow.
